Anyone with an interest in taking photographs and improving their skills in fantastic, scenic locations. Adriatic2alps participants come from all over Europe, North America, Australia and pretty much everywhere else. All levels of photography are catered for, from beginner to pro.

Absolutely! Non-photographers who join our tours do not need to worry about having to follow photographers around all the time. There are plenty of activities to choose from at the destinations we visit. You might like to look at one of our special interest tours which could be tailored to complement a photography tour (insert link). If you have a point and shoot camera you can bring this along and capture some wonderful holiday images and gain some helpful hints.

We have over 40 years’ experience between us providing tuition to passionate enthusiasts and beginners in a variety of locations all over Adriatic and wider alpine regions ensuring that we can identify and provide you with the help and tuition you need. Small groups (max 6 with one leader) guarantee individual attention from your tour leader. You’ll be learning with a hands-on approach in the field, meeting new photography friends, sharing ideas, experiences and practising a variety of techniques.

We use a combination of 3 or 4-star hotels, family-owned guest-houses and tourist farms. All lodgings are carefully chosen for their location, convenience, and quality of service. Wherever possible, free internet access is provided. Pricing is based on a shared double/twin bedroom and on a half-board basis unless otherwise stated. Single rooms are available upon request for an additional supplement. Specific details of accommodation for your tour will be sent to you on booking.

We travel in spacious, air-conditioned, 9-seater vans with enough room for all your luggage and photo equipment. The roads in Slovenia and Croatia are well-maintained and safe. Travel in Bosnia, Herzegovina and Montenegro is more challenging as there are no modern highways, but the winding roads provide excellent photo opportunities on the way. We aim to minimize road travel on our tours and take into account ferry timetables when planning our itineraries.

The dates of our tours are selected with good weather in mind, however the weather can be unpredictable, especially in the Alps. We’ll endeavour to get out when we can and shoot in all weathers within reason and will be flexible with the schedule to maximise photography opportunities. Remember moody skies often lead to the most dramatic images!

We will send you a list of suggested equipment and clothing specific to your tour once you have booked, but don’t worry it will be standard outdoor clothing and your usual camera equipment.

The great thing about A2A tours and workshops is that as they are limited to 6 people for every photography tour leader, we can tailor photography tuition and advice to your specific needs. Whether you are a complete beginner or a professional photographer we will find ways to make sure you return feeling more confident in your photography and having learned something new. The diverse nature of our tour and workshop locations provides opportunities to learn more about how to photograph in a variety of settings as we’ll experience a range of landscapes, nature, cities, architecture, everyday life and people. And then there are more specific techniques, such as when and how to photograph ‘blue hour’, how to paint with light, macro techniques with snowy crystals, cave photography and capturing star trails to name but a few.

After each session we offer the opportunity to select some of your shots for review and can provide constructive critique and tips to help you get the most out of your time with us.

A photography tour offers travel to locations chosen for their natural beauty and interest with the emphasis on exploring the destinations and photographing what you find there. Photography tuition and advice can be as low-key or intense as you choose. Photography tours are a great way to build your portfolio, improve your photography in a relaxed, holiday setting and learn more about the places you travel to from an experienced photography guide.

A photography workshop is more of an educational experience. Our workshops focus on specific photography techniques and teaching new skills for you to use in your future photography. You should attend a workshop expecting to learn and will receive hands-on tuition from an expert photography leader.
