Spring is a memorable experience not to be missed with May being one of the most beautiful months. Nature has recovered after the long winter, the trees are lush and vividly green, the meadows are marked with a wide variety of colourful wild flowers and the mountain peaks are still covered with snow creating a stunning backdrop for landscape photos. At the coast the weather is pleasantly warm and a brave few are already swimming. The streets of Ljubljana are bursting into life and the Ljubljanica River promenade is the place to be.
In summer the weather in Slovenia is stable and nature in abundance. Green is the dominant colour in the forests, meadows and rivers too. Alpine flowers are thriving and the last remnants of snow are melting. Summer festivals take place across the country and Ljubljana hosts lively outdoor concerts and performances. This is also a time when farmers are harvesting their crops, and fresh fruit and vegetables are in abundance, especially in Ljubljana’s beautiful open-air marketplace.
Colours and gentle natural light are the main draw for photographers in autumn, and in Slovenia’s Julian Alps colour abounds; yellow needles of the Larch trees contrast with the emerald green waters of alpine rivers and the deep red and brown leaves of the smoke trees in the Karst area. The grape harvest is underway and orchards are bursting with fruits.
Winter brings its own magic and we have created a special Winter workshop to capture snowy landscapes, incredible ice formations, misty lakes and frozen waterfalls. Whatever time of year you choose to visit us, Slovenia offers a wealth of photography opportunities and a variety of experiences which guarantee an unforgettable tour.

We have two full days to explore the beautiful Gorenjska region. The journey will begin in Bled, which is one of the most stunning places in Slovenia with its lake and iconic church on the island in the middle. We start our day by capturing the sunrise at the lake shore and then return for breakfast. Bled Castle on the cliff above offers superb views on the lake, and there will be plenty of opportunities to capture landscape photos from this vantage point. Nearby Lake Bohinj is also a glacier-made body like Bled, but as it is located in the heart of Julian Alps it provides a very different setting. From there, we will pass through many picturesque traditional villages on our way to the spectacular Vintgar Gorge. Finally, after a long day of photographing we will indulge in one of Bled’s famous “kremsnita” cream cakes and renew our energy levels.

We will explore the hidden corners of this area with its numerous gorges, waterfalls, WWI remnants and much more. Keen wildlife photographers can try their luck with Alpine Ibex. This wild mountain goat is the king of the Julian Alps. From here, we take a trip to the highest Slovenian road, the Mangart Saddle which is over 2000m high.
